Qantas’ incoming chief executive Vanessa Hudson says she can deliver on an estimated $12.3 billion fleet renewal program over the next five years, as well as maintaining the airline’s coveted shareholder returns.

The ageing fleet is one of the biggest challenges facing Ms Hudson when she becomes Qantas’ first female CEO in November, which will mark an end to Alan Joyce’s long and divisive reign at the carrier.
